One done 5 1/2 more to go!

I started Radiation last week.  It's okay, doesn't hurt when it is 'beaming' me.  On day 3, I started getting a 'sun' burn under my arm and towards my back. Doc said it isn't normal but it can happen. They gave me some stuff to put on it and I put Aquapol (looks like kinda like petroleum jelly, but it's not.  I expected this stuff to happen around week 4..not after 3 days!!!!!  The radiologist said "that's what I was thinking!"  Great! You were supposed to make me feel better!!! LOL!!

Anyway, I'll be okay.

2011- and now.........

I can't believe it is 2011!  It was definitely a long year.  Christmas was great! We spent it at our house. It was nice and quite.  We went to my little brothers house for New Years and celebrated Sonia and Eddie's birthday.  We were home and in bed by 12:30am.  It was a long night and I was exhausted, but I was determined not to miss out on the new year because of the C.  I hope you all had a blessed and wonderful Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year.

I have experienced some major joint and bone pain...I don't know how long that will go on, but, I hope it is almost over.  I've been told it was because I was allergic to the Taxol (the last chemo medicine I was on). I stopped taking that on December 22nd.  I don't know how much longer it will take to get out of my system. I am praying that it will be soon.

I go for my Radiation markings on Wednesday, January 12th. They are going to mark my radiation site using a CT machine. Then they will set the machine up for my radiation.  I don't know how long it will take.  The doctor said I could start radiation as early as the next day depending on how long it takes to set up the machine.  I have mixed feelings about the radiation.  I am excited to have it done and to get it over with; however, I am not excited about the possible effects on me.  Possible blisters, burning, peeling of the skin and possible infection.  ARGH!  Radiation is for 6 1/2 weeks.  I can see a little sliver of light at the end of the tunnel.

Abel will be having surgery on Wednesday as well. The skin graft they did on him when he had cancer in 2009 has started spreading apart and he has 2 spots that are exposing bone.  His doctor is going to go in and scrap everything done and fix the exposed bone.  I pray everything will go well for him.  My poor honey has gone through so much already.

Hugs to you all and thank you so much for all the support and prayers.
